James 5:13-15 says:

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, annointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has commited sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

To pray for one another more effectively, we should share our trials and afflictions as well as our triumphs and successes. Thus, as James' words tell us, anyone who is sick should ask for prayers.

Time is spent each week during Sabbath services at the Fairview Texas Church of God reviewing and updating our Prayer List. We are most pleased when we are able to move someone off of our Prayer List and onto our Victory List as their condition improves.
